Best food to try in Lisbon

Wondering what to eat in Lisbon?

These are the dishes that define the city and give you a true taste of Portugal, even though not so known.

Must-Try Dishes in Lisbon:

Caldo Verde

A comforting soup made with potatoes, kale, and chouriço. My favourite, perfect for a winter day.

Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato

Clams cooked in garlic, olive oil, and coriander; simple and so tasty. Perfect as a starter to share amongst everyone!

Arroz de Marisco

A rich, soupy seafood rice dish packed with different kinds of fish, shellfish and much more. A must try as well!

Queijo da Serra

Portugal’s also very known for its cheeses and the one of the most famous one is Queijo da Serra, creamy and intense.

Sweet Treats You CAN’T Miss:

  • Pastel de Nata: every version of a pastel de nata that you see, all worth it

  • Pastel de Belém: the original recipe of pasteis de nata, only sold in one store in Lisbon.

  • Pão de Deus. For breakfast, a little sweet coconut topped bread.
