Step into Lisbon’s night life and uncover some of the city’s secret spots. I’ll go through my top 5 bars, perfect for the start of a night out, just have a drink or experience new drinks.
Grab a glass and join me on this after dark journey!
Rumours
Rumours is an amazing bar located in Alcântara and it’s the perfect spot for a girls night or just a fun drinking night with friends. This bar becomes a whole drinking experience because of its concept: you bring your own booze and Stefano, the talented barman, creates your special drinks. You have the ideal space to enjoy a unique drink personalized to your taste while having fun. One must-try I recommend to you is the nutella shots, absolutely delicious!

Toca da raposa
Toca da Raposa, located in Chiado, is a mesmerising bar where creativity has no limits. The owner, Constança Cordeiro, made the drinking experience more interesting by bringing to the table seasonal cocktails. Here, you’ll get to taste a bit of the portuguese essence through cocktails, due to the use of ingredients like fennel, eucalyptus, and wildflowers - this enhances the flavours and makes your tastebuds go crazy. This way, you’ll have a full sensorial experience: the drinks made manually from scratch and, also, the space itself which brings out the creative persona in you. Definitely one you should put on your list!

Imprensa
Imprensa is located in Príncipe Real & in Baixa-chiado and the concept is all around the “written press” in Portuguese culture, even the decoration - the vintage typewriter will definitely catch your eye. The menu is also press themed and each cocktail is named after a font type, since the owner believes that every single font type has its own story” (Frederico Falcão is one of the five owners). This bar is known for being one of the first oyster bar in town - the oysters are from Setúbal (one of Portugal's best spots for seafood) and they’re the perfect pair to go with the cocktails. You can’t miss out on this cosy spot for an afternoon or evening drink!

Javá
Javá is the new hot spot in Lisbon where you can have a drink and relax with a perfect view of the Tagus river. The space has a very urban ambience mixed with nature, giving you the ideal environment for dinner and drinks with your friends. As for the menu, you’ll have the Mediterranean grill experience you can share with your group, as well as the crafted cocktails that are to-die for. Besides, it also has rooftop brunch during weekends. Here, you can enjoy food, drinks and music in a relaxed way.

Ulysses
Located in Alfama, you can find one of the smallest and best bars in the world - Ulysses. If you’re looking for a unique experience this is the right place for you! Here, you’ll find an intimate chilled environment (only four people fit inside), but also very creative. You’ll have the opportunity to meet Manuel, the owner, who considers himself a drink’s “alfaiate” (tailor) - he works like a designer, but for drinks. You’ll have a whole personalized experience by answering 4 simple questions, that way your drink will not only be to your taste but according to your personality as well. I won’t reveal the questions to you, but I’ll give you my cocktail anwsers: pistachio, watermelon, orange and gin. With more than 561 bottles in a tiny little old shoe cobbler space you will most likely be experiencing a one in an only cocktail. Also, Ulysses is currently “50 Best Discovery”, so you should definitely give it a try!

There you go, these were my top 5 bars in Lisbon! Each one has a unique factor to it and you’ll have a good range of options to choose from. From small cosy corners to rooftops, Lisbon has it all. So, are you ready to go and try some of these incredible experiences? Which ones got your attention?
