Alvalade is where you’ll find this food and drinks lab. Why Cobaia (guinea pig)? Because this is a place where you go to try new takes on traditional flavors and dishes. The Mediterranean-inspired menu integrates seafood, fish, meat, and lots of vegetables made in delectable ways.

Cobaia is definitely bringing some spice to this quiet and calm neighborhood, so head there if you’re looking for a unique dining experience. This restaurant is an all-encompassing experience, from the flavours and drinks to the captivating interiors! It’s easily one of my best discoveries of 2023!!! 🤩

DRINKS

The bar, with its eye-catching neon “lab” sign and test tube-inspired drinks, takes you on a scientific cocktail journey. 🧪✨ Crafted by Gustavo Viana, the periodic table-themed menu boasts suggestive names and presentations from another universe.

◼️ O2 OXYGEN | Simple taste and daring in its packaging, served in a fake blood bag | features your choice of gin, vodka, rum, or tequila, blended with a zesty citrus twist, sweet honey, and red fruits

Chef Jorge Redondo , also known for his curation at Trópico do Cais , which was another super pleasant surprise - check out my video there! He masterfully plays with different techniques, flavours, and ingredients, creating a complex and vibrant mediterranean menu! So, let’s dive in!

◼️ “PASTEL DE MASSA TENRA” PORTUGUESE SAVOURY PASTRY | 9€ | Oh my, one of my all-time favorite Portuguese pastries, but it’s usually hard to find a great one outside of Frutalmeidas! However, this one certainly won my heart with its soft interior and crispy exterior!

◼️HOMEMADE COOKIE W/ ICE CREAM | 5.5€ | nice treat to end the meal on a sweet note, but I would for sure had order the cheese pie!
